Scope and deliverables
3D modelling shaped around your brief.
Part and assembly modelling
Model individual components and their assembly relationships from supplied dimensions and reference files.
Design revisions
Update geometry against confirmed design changes and project review comments.
2D drawing outputs
Agree the drawing views and file formats needed to communicate the model.
Define the model before we begin
From reference information to usable CAD geometry.
What source information do you need?
Provide available 2D drawings, sketches, dimensions and reference models. Identify units, materials where relevant and any dimensions that still need confirmation. Photographs can explain an arrangement, but measurements or approved design references are needed to define its geometry.
Can the model support manufacturing drawings?
Agree the required assembly views, sections, dimensions and output formats as part of the brief. A model and a fabrication drawing serve different purposes; confirm both deliverables if your workshop requires documented manufacturing details.
How are changes reviewed?
Consolidate design comments and identify the revision being reviewed. Confirm the updated geometry before requesting the final model and drawing set. For examples of documented assemblies, view our motorised welding-table project and rotary welding-table project.
